ADJECTIVE CLAUSE

A clause is a structure that has a subject and a verb.
There are two kinds of clauses : independent and dependent. An independent clause is a main clause. It can stand alone as a sentence. A dependent clause must be connected to an independent clause. A dependent clause cannot stand alone as a sentence. An adjective clause is a dependent clause.
I met a man = an independent clause
Who is kind to everybody = a dependent clause

*In informal english, who is often used as an object pronoun instead of whom :
FORMAL             : The man whom I met was friendly
INFORMAL         : The man who I met was friendly
